Ridge Waterfall was created for a college that was looking for a more functional and universal product than just a chair. Their desire was to have a product that was less expensive than a chair (so they could buy more of them) but function like a chair as well as a study group seat. Moving Ridge chairs around is easy and takes up less space, thus allowing Students to push up several of them and create a small study group. This also eliminated sitting on the arms of a chair and or on tables.
